This is a Dramatization

If anyone knows the Baileys they know that life is never boring at our house. I believe it all stems from my father, most of us (mainly me) were blessed enough to receive pretty much all of his personality. Add that to my mothers fun and happy personality and you have us. A one of a kind family. Now life is not always a big ball of happiness and laughter at our house, we can be normal....ish. However, most of the time it is and last night was one of the many times that we were not normal. My mother being the wonderful lady that she is always makes us read our scriptures and pray at night. I say makes us because she truly does force it upon as from time to time. Last night was one of those times. We all plopped down on a chair in our living room each one opening up their own set of scriptures, my mother repeating what page we are on at least 15 times and then some. McKay being the leader that he is decided he would start our reading. He cleared his throat, then he started "It came to pass." this phrase had not been read so dramatic since they recorded the Book of Mormon on tape. He then carried on reading as seriously and dramatically as was possible. 3 verses later he ended as dramatically as he started. It was 100% entertaining. Seeing as I was sitting to McKays left it was now my turn to read. I am not one to pass up on an opportunity for fun, and I am also a firm believer in being a follower, I began to read my 3 verses in a voice just as dramatic as Mckays had been. As I finished I looked to my left to see little Tyson. I was completely unprepared for what came next. He paused then began to read his verses in the most dramatic voice he could muster. It was complete with pauses and accented words, his voice occasionally raising in parts and dropping low in others. He caught every person in that room off guard, it wasn't for long though as we all began to laugh. He never missed a beat, he just kept right on reading as dramatically as he could. It may not have been the most reverent night at the Bailey household scripture study but it was most certainly one of the most memorable. We giggled all the rest of the night thinking of Tyson's reading.

  1. HAHAHA! That is hilarious! Maybe that's what my family needs to kick-start our scripture reading again...so funny.
